VESTIBULAR SOCKET THERAPY
Immediate implant placement with simultaneous rehabilitation of compromised sockets
The presence of chronic infection and /or labial plate of bone defects related to fresh extraction locations , presents a real challenge to many clinicians, the decision whether to delay implant placement or to place implants immediately involve higher risks and potential treatment complications.
Course Description:
This course describes a novel clinical protocol to treat wide varieties of fresh extraction sites (thin, or deficient labial plate of bone, severely compromised, actively infected) with immediate implant placement, the protocol is designed to repair any defective socket environment while placing an immediate implant at the same surgical setting thus providing immediacy also proven to offer an unpreceded predictable clinical & regenerative outcome. This course will highlight the extensively published studies using the VST protocol with a special emphasis on the long term (three years) follow up data.
The VST protocol offers shortened treatment time, reduced the number of surgical interventions to only one, preserve the original socket orifice topography with minimal or no mid facial post restorative recession, and allowed the total socket rehabilitation.
This course will detail the VST 6 days protocol, the vestibular root removal protocol, the vestibular socket preservation technique, and the routine basics and advances of the vestibular socket therapy.
Dr. Abdelsalam Elaskary
Dr. Abdelsalam Elaskary is the founder of the vestibular socket therapy treatment protocol (VST), the owner of the Elaskary & Associates clinic and educational institute located in Alexandria, Egypt, he is currently a visiting lecturer at University of New York NYU, and the president of the Arab society of oral implantology in Cairo. He authored three text books in the field of dental Implantology and oral Reconstruction, “Reconstructive Aesthetic Implant Surgery” & “fundamentals of aesthetic implant dentistry” and “Advances in Esthetic implant dentistry” all published by john Wiley, Translated in to several languages. He as well authored numerous articles in the field of implant dentistry.
Learning Objectives:
1. Realize the fate and limitations of the traditional immediate implant placement procedures in the esthetic zone.
2. Understand the Vestibular root removal technique.
3. Comprehend the Bone shielding concept.
4. Gain understanding of the Vestibular socket therapy concept, the benefits of the novel VST instrument kit, treatment scope, get to know the scientific evidence as well as the clinical rials made that boost the superiority to the VST.
5. Learn how to implement the Vestibular socket preservation therapy .
6. Learn how does the VST protocol influence positively to your patient’s acceptance.
Workshop Outline:
A unique workshop that enables the candidate to practice VST technique on a specially designed VST plastic model, that simulates various socket conditions, using the VST instrument Kit, Implant unique products (the pro implants, auto tacs, interim abutments, mineross, etc..). also the use of osteobiol Bone shield placement & stabilization.

Advantages
Treats almost all socket varieties(thin, lost, infected) | Treatment time reduced to just 8 weeks | Minimized number of surgical interventions |
Allows immediacy , no delay to implant placement | Positive impact to the patient | Minimal post operative tissue trauma and inflammatory response |
Treats multiple adjacent teeth | No need to do any prosthetic profiling | Minimal or no midfacial post restorative recession |
With NO vertical incisions, with immediate implant placement, with NO post operative tissue recession, and with complete restoration of soft and hard tissue deficiencies!

No vertical incisions, Labial and palatal plates restored, Treatment time 8 weeks, Minimal post op trauma, 2.5 years follow up.
