DENTISTRY AT EUC

In order to train dentists – dental assistants, the European University of Cyprus-School of Dentistry and the Merimna Institute – Continuing Dental Education Institution collaborate in the development and design of a unique-blended learning- courses of continuing dental education, with a modern course curriculum, supported by evidence-based teaching methodology, presented by experienced dental & dental assisting academic and clinical instructors. The Programmes are carried out in the state-of-the-art facilities of the European University of Cyprus in Cyprus, as well as in the premises of the Merimna Institute in Greece.

DENTISTRY AT EUC

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery at EUC offers a modern curriculum based on the highest European and North American dental education standards. Students are trained in the fundamentals of human health and disease with relevance to the oral environment using a curriculum closely integrated to the biomedical sciences. Students undertake classes in state-of the-art facilities including the anatomy dissection room and clinical and technical skills labs with patient simulators and a range of dental equipment. A diverse student body and faculty ensures a collaborative learning environment and a global perspective in the field of dental health.

Graduates automatically qualify to work as general practitioners anywhere within the 32 European Union and European Free Trade Association member states. Membership to the Association of Dental Education in Europe ensures compliance with any updates of the profile and competences for the graduating European dentist.

Approved by ADEE

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery offers a modern curriculum based on the highest European and North American dental education standards with particular consideration on the “2009 Update of the Profile and Competences for the Graduating European Dentist”, which is approved by the Association of Dental Education in Europe (ADEE). The Department of Dentistry, School of Medicine is a member of ADEE.

State-of-Art Facilities

Pre-clinical and clinical dental training takes place in a state-of-the-art facilities and is taught by very qualified academic dental faculty. Labs include among others a Haptic Simulator’s lab, Digital Dentistry and Digital Planning Lab, Anatomy Lab, Dental Simulation Lab and Dental Clinic Technology Enhanced Learning utilizes Haptic and Dental Radiology Simulators which provide students a proper and extensive learning process before they can perform procedures to patients correctly.

Careers in Dentistry

Most graduates can work in their private clinics or private or public hospitals and community clinics. Graduates can specialize in various disciplines such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry, pediatric dentistry or orthodontics.

EUC Dental Clinic

The primary role of the EUC on campus Dental Clinic is the training of dental students to become qualified dentists with key skills and clinical competencies. The oral care provided by our dental students is overseen by highly experienced dentists, dental specialists and university professors. In this way, our patients receive high quality treatment while our students gain essential experience in an ideal learning environment.
